Ambulance Driver Shot By Armed Robbers Dead

The driver with the Ghana Ambulance Service in Yilo Krobo Constituency who was shot by some suspected armed robbers on 4 February 2020 has been confirmed dead.

Identified as Abraham Tetteh, the driver was transporting a pregnant woman in labour from Akuse Government Hospital to the Eastern Regional Hospital in Koforidua when he encountered robbers.

It is believed that the ambulance with registration Number GV 644-20 bumped into a robbery operation on the Akuase Somanya road while speeding but the robbers opened fire on the driver and shot him in the head.

He died on Saturday (6 February 2021) at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.
