John Dramani Maham, former president of the Republic of Ghana and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in his recent address to party faithful and Ghanaians has debunked claims that the NDC does not have intellectuals.
Speaking at his party’s Professionals Forum Annual Conference, John Mahama asserted that when it comes to intellectuals, the NDC can boast of possessing such individuals, saying the NDC has “sufficient intellectual and academic power to take on any party in this world.”
His remark comes of the back of recent criticisms against party with regards to the NDC lacking intellectual power to aid the party in securing a win in the general elections.
He said, “The perception has always been that mass parties do not have intellectuals and academic firepower. I mean just a fraction of the members of the Pro Forum in this auditorium and the self-introductions that you made clearly shows that pound for pound, we have on the side of the NDC, sufficient intellectual and academic power to take on any party in this world, and we have proved it over the years.”
